October 30, 2009 - Songwriting Update

I had a scheduled recording today at 3AM, but I ended up pitching new female pop songs to upcoming Pop artists. There were about four females mentioned who needed Pop songs, so I went through my catalog, and sent over five. I'm friends with the A&R, so I'll hear back pretty soon. He also texted me that he has some bigger news for me, hopefully about a song I recently wrote for a young new male artist.

Over the next few weeks, I'll be pitching more music, exploring more opportunities to write with other songwriters and producers.

If you haven't heard, I've also been posting my own material at www.reverbnation.com/jaredjones.

I also found out about a new promotion I can do for my songs called "Tweet My Song". Google it.

Have you ever had your heart broken?

Have you ever been in a relationship, and thought it would last forever?

Have you ever met your "true love", to find out they never really loved you back?

Have you been burned so much in relationships that no matter how good it gets, you are awaiting it's end?

Cheated On?

"You're Gonna Break My Heart" - Listen Now on the new ReverbNation music player next to this post. Especially for fans of Jason Mraz and Colbie Caillat.

You’re Gonna Break My Heart

Jared Jones (ASCAP), Ezemdi Chikwendu (BMI)

Verse 1

Sittin on my couch

And I just figured out

We won’t be here long

I see your pretty face

And I can’t complain

Cause you got it all

Pre-Chorus

I must have fooled myself

Or maybe very lucky

Cause I can call you baby

Even for a while

Just a matter of time

Before my hourglass runs dry

But it’s expected

Chorus

You’re gonna break my heart

O, you could make me smile

My one true reason why

Let’s enjoy each moment

You’re gonna break my heart

O, you could tell me twice

My truth’s in for surprise

Though you’d never lie

You’re gonna break my heart

Vamp

Yes you will

Gonna end up breakin my heart

Verse 2

What a thing to say

I hope you’re not mad

But I am prepared

Cause something so good

Just don’t seem to last

At least not for me

Pre-Chorus

Why is it that way?

I tried my best to change it

Think a little differently

I’ll put the blame on me

It may not be fair

But neither is it when you leave

When it’s unexpected

Chorus

Vamp (Breakdown)

Chorus (2X)

Fade out

End
